i fell on ice landed on left arm and hip. have good range of motion in hip, can walk with minimal pain. throbs a little. A week later noticed when taking stairs can hear popping, grinding from the hip area. still hurts, pain alleviated with heat and ibuprofen. Could this be fractured?
Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.
Hip factures usually don't go un noticed as this is a weight bearing set of bones and one just can not be normal in walking and bearing one's own weight if there is some problem in hip anatomy.
In your scenario hip fracture is a remote posbility ... it seems to be soft tissue injury. It can well take about a month to heal up properly. Till then you have to take good rest and let it heal up. Physiotherapy is a very good way to get quicker relief. Warm compresses help loseing up the spasmed muscles around hip. I would suggest you to wait for a couple more weeks to see how it progresses. I am quite positive that it will.get better.
I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.
Regards.
